01Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Account details — your email address, name, username and profile photo. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk; we never see or store your password.
- Profile details you choose to add — bio, location, social links and a cover photo.
- Your work — font projects, fonts you upload or publish, tracing images, and collaborators you invite.
- Community activity — comments, replies, likes, follows and favorites.
- Messages you send us through the contact form, including your name and email.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — pages you visit, buttons and links you click, searches, time spent on a page and product events such as downloads.
- Device and connection data — your IP address, the approximate location derived from it (country, region, city) and your internet provider, plus browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and referring page.
- Download records — which fonts were downloaded, linked to your account when you are signed in.
02How we use information
- To provide the service: sign you in, save your projects, publish your fonts and show your public profile.
- To run the community: display comments, send in-app notifications (follows, replies, mentions, likes, font reviews) and let you find other designers.
- To review fonts submitted for publication and to moderate content.
- To keep Renus secure: rate limiting, preventing spam and abuse, and investigating problems.
- To understand how Renus is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
- To answer messages you send us.
We do not use your information for advertising and we do not build advertising profiles.
03What is public
Some information is public by design so the community can work:
- Your profile: display name, username, profile and cover photos, bio, location, social links, join date and counts (fonts, downloads, saves, followers, following).
- Your follower and following lists.
- Fonts you publish (after review) and the comments you post.
Studio projects are private unless you share them with collaborators, who can see the project with the role you give them.
05Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, Renus does not record analytics for your visit. Sign-in, downloads and other features keep working normally.
07How long we keep information
- Analytics data (including IP addresses and approximate location) is deleted automatically after 180 days.
- Account, profile and community data is kept while your account exists.
- When an account is deleted, its profile, projects, comments, likes, follows, favorites and notifications are deleted. Fonts that were already published stay available under their license, but are no longer linked to the account.
- Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request.
08Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit your profile at any time from your profile page.
- You can remove your profile photo, cover photo, comments and likes yourself.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account, through the contact page.
- You can turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser to opt out of analytics.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; contact us and we will help.
09Children
Renus is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
10Security
Connections to Renus are encrypted with HTTPS, access to data is restricted, and uploads are checked before they are stored. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password or a sign-in method you trust.
11International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. We rely on providers that protect data according to industry standards.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Renus changes. We'll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app.
13Contact
Questions about privacy or requests about your data can be sent through our contact page — choose the “Licensing & legal” topic.
